Who is the Gardening Coach

• My name is Chris Brewer & I’m the Gardening Coach. Originally from the Suffolk town of Ipswich in the UK, I’ve been living in Belgium since 1998.  I’m married, have a baby on the way and also live with 2 cats and a dog.
  
  
• Most of my professional career has been spent working in the training and development function of companies such as AXA, Cisco Systems and Levi Strauss but at the start of 2009 I decided to launch the Gardening Coach as a full time business.
  
  
• My passion for gardening  started about 10 years ago when I moved into my first house here in Belgium with a garden. That garden had been neglected and was completely overgrown. With time and dedication I managed to turn it into a garden that my family and friends enjoyed and admired.
  
  
• This prompted me to study gardening in my spare time and to pour over gardening books, but most importantly I got to work! I learned what worked and what did not. By choice, I never used chemicals and learned how to maintain my garden in a sustainable, environmentally friendly way.
  
  
• More and more people started to ask for my advice on what they should do with their gardens and it struck me how little most people know. This, combined with my own love for gardening,  is where the concept of the Gardening Coach came from.
  
  
• I first launched the Gardening Coach as a part time business/hobby in 2006 but due to the demands of my full time job, I couldn’t continue. However this trial proved to me that there was a market for this new type of service.
